It’s nice when you can break patterns in your music digestion a bit, like you can do with these songs from Auntie Flo. I really recommend his new record, Future Rhythm Machine - it’s filled with this kind of fun, blending house with a lot of color and organic instruments. I don’t really know what to call it, just listen.
I remember when Boys Noize and his fellow label mates were everything for me. Strip Steve always made good stuff, and I haven’t really been up to date with his latest stuff, but I didn’t think he was quite this progressive now. Here he teams up with the two dream-pop girls that make up the duo Puro Instict, and this is the first single from his coming album Micro Mega.
Someone actually took the time to rip this song from the mix that Todd Terje did for Beats In Space. I thought this song was the strongest by far on his set, and I’m really happy I found this. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Enjoy!
“Je M’ennuie”, lovers settle into late-night melancholic routines soundtracked by a brooding bass line, an achingly affective synth lead, and vocals that grin behind the disaffected front. Ultimately, hope prevails as both tracks beg the listener to leave their headphones behind for the global village’s dance floor. From Paris to Cologne, from Buenos Aires to New York, in the words of Michel Polnareff, “On ira tous au Paradis.”
Paradis new 12”, Hémisphère b/w Je m’ennuie, is out now through RVNG
Do I really need to wait for another month for this release?! This will be Julio Bashmore’s first release from his newly started label, Boardwalk.
