Aebeloe x Nocow

image

The danish wizard, Natal Zaks, also known as Aebeloe just released the EP Agnes on Farver. It consist of a couple of remixes on the three songs, but this one is without a doubt the best there is on this one. I thought this remix from Nocow would be dark and horrific, in his usual outfit, but this one is actually very different from what you’ve heard from him before. It’s sways along with colorful and calm fashion, building up to a point where it actually feels alive.

Keep Shelly in Athens

With billion euro loans, riots in the streets, anger and frustration among the people, and a youth lost in this sinking ship we call the economy - Greece hasn’t got much going for them right now. But, music is a beautiful thing, never ending, keeps that string of hope from snapping, bursting of energy that we all need so desperately right now. That’s why Greece should be thankful they’ve at least got Keep Shelly in Athens, who doesn’t seem affected - still hurling the blogs with their eclectic songs and remixes, making everyone forget for a while. Here’s a new song from the upcoming album, Our Own Dream, out 5th of november.

Juk Juk

First time I heard Four Tets disciple Caleb Waterman, also known as Juk Juk, was on Kierans latest Beats in Space-mix. Ever since then I’ve been waiting eagerly to get my hands on some of his stuff. The two step two track release is out now on Four Tets own label, Text. Also, check out his mix he has on his Soundcloud, it’s as good as any. Prime!

Take a look at the music video for Lean And Smile.

Ohhh snap! Mr Clams Casino is on it again, putting that magic under the rising New York kid, ASAP Rocky.

Phantogram

I’m all over Phantograms recent release, Nightlife - there are a collection of really strong tracks that keeps your ears fixated through it all. This song however, is in my opinion, the way coolest. It has this nice mixture of a bouncy beat and pure happiness, that’s the only way I could describe it for you.

Her Space Holiday x The Album Leaf

It pays off to dig deep down in your library for old songs you’ve forgotten about. Dream yourself away.

Ntlisten

Ntlisten is a producer/beat maker from Greece, and I stumbled upon his free three track EP 0507. Forgot about it for a couple of days, and didn’t really know what it was until I put it on. Out blasts on of the rawest hiphop tunes I’ve ever heard - mixing and screwing down A.D.O.R.’s, 1 4 The Renegade Master, into a slow and gritty shape, making even you scared. Fatboy Slim wishes he made this good of a interpretation on this song. This will be on repeat for a while.

Public Transport

Here’s a fresh cut from the american synth sensei, Public Transportat. The soft sound space and synth waves hurries along with really a upbeat tempo - placing himself somewhere between Ulrich Schnauss and M83. Download his free EP and a lot of other presents from his Soundcloud.

Dauwd

I first heard Dauwd when he remixed Crystal Fighters and James Blake, and from there I went on to discover a little more of his own stuff, and I’m glad I did. What you get from this brit is top notch future garage/post-dubstep, or whatever we’re calling it. A sound only the britts can deliver with truth. Even though Dauwd drifts away in to the ambient corner from time to time, you can clearly hear the influences from the winds that are blowing from the west right now. Good stuff.

GOLDEN EYE

One of my favorite albums last year was definitely GOLDEN EYES debut, Golden Eyes Forever (which you can download for free). Blending those repetitive hooks with that surf/psych rock makes their sound quite unique. A couple of hours ago they released three new songs on their Soundcloud, and they’re supposed to be from the new album Underwhelm, which is due to release next year some time. Give Far Too Late a minute to build up, the baseline is huge.

Kinda old, but this one deserves all the attention it could possibly get.

Way Yes

New song from Way Yes, from their new 7”, Oranjudio. Reminds me a lot of both Vampire Weekend and Panda Bear at the same time - in other words a great blend.

In Flight Entertainment

Aeroplanes new Mix-CD, In Flight Entertainment, is full of disco goodies, just listen to these gems.

Never heard of this guy before, but Martin Dubka has the strongest contribution on this mix CD. I really like that laser gun noise, hehe.

I’ve posted some material from Kolombo before, and here he is with a completely exclusive track just for this one. No disappointment.

Сигнал / Signal

I just love everything that touches space and science-fiction in this sort of way. Seems like this guy, Maxim Zhestkov, should get a film deal asap.

Dusky

Dusky takes a similar route as Apparat does in this electronic jungle - very emotional and almost cinematic house music. Take a listen to Londons’ new progressive house kings. New album, Stick By This, is out now on Ajunadeep.

Kavinsky

So I watched the movie Drive yesterday - and my hopes for this one were sky high. Unfortunately it wasn’t all that I’ve hoped for it to be. It just felt a little too slow and a bit pretentious. But the first chase scene and this intro sequence, with Kavinskys Nightcall in the background, was just perfect. I got the goose bumps.

Small Black

A taxi cab, full of glass, headphones on, I never heard the crash. Josh Kolenik of Small Black delivers his dreamy voice in a effortless fashion, over melting guitars and a careful bouncy beat. They’ve also got some help from Heems from Das Racist, who lays some freestyle parts here and there.

This song is the first single from the upcoming mixtape Moon Killer, out 11th of november. Can’t wait to sink in to it.
